First Methodist Houston Westchase will offer a special Christmas worship service of hope and remembrance for those who have lost loved ones.

The service will take place Sunday, Dec. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hinson Chapel. The church’s campus is located at 10570 Westpark Drive at the Sam Houston Tollway.

The Rev. Susan Grittman, associate pastor responsible for the healing and caring ministry, will lead the service. Each person or family will be invited to light a candle in memory of a loved-one during the worship.

"This worship service offers a place where healing and restoration may begin, or continue, through heartfelt music, liturgy, preaching, candle lighting and Holy Communion," Grittman said.

Drawing participation from all over the city, First Methodist Houston is a two-campus congregation of about 5,000 diverse members.

First Methodist Houston Downtown offers traditional Sunday worship services at 8:45 and 11 a.m., with a Spanish service at 11 a.m. It has a casual service at 6 p.m.

First Methodist Houston Westchase offers a traditional worship service Sundays at 9 a.m. and a contemporary worship service at 11:12 a.m. Sundays.
