STATE OF THE CITY – Sugar Land Mayor Jimmy Thompson will present his “State of the City” address Jan. 23 at the Sugar Land Marriott.

Sugar Land Mayor Jimmy Thompson will present his “State of the City” address on Jan. 23 at the Sugar Land Marriott Town Square.

The event is being sponsored by the Fort Bend Chamber of commerce Governmental Relations Division in conjunction with the City of Sugar Land. Tickets are $25 per person, or $200 for a corporate table of eight.

Thompson, currently serving his first term as mayor, will highlight the city’s accomplishments for 2008, as well as plans for the upcoming year. Sugar Land will celebrate its 50th anniversary as a city during 2009.

I've seen Jimmy's speech and its titled "How Does MC Do It On 1/5 Our Budget"....or maybe one day we won't need red light cameras and grants to make ends meet....yanno?
